Specifications • 10,000 to 33,000 gallon capacity available • Common sizes are 22,000 to 23,500 gallon capacity • Maximum gross weight is 263,000 lbs.
Equipment Ffeatures • Non-pressure, insulated/non-insulated, with/without expansion dome; typically used to transport a wide range of commodities such as food-grade products, chemicals and oils • Non-pressure cars designed specifically to be used in a range of acid services such as sulfuric acid and muriatic acid; some acid cars are rubber-lined while others are paint-lined • Tank material can be steel, aluminum or stainless steel • Typical protective features include double-shelf couplers, bottom outlet protection and safety relief valves • Options include steam coils, insulation and product specific linings and valves • Most acid cars are fitted with loading and unloading devices on a single nozzle, thus protecting workers and the environment • Compartmentalized cars are available to transport different petroleum products such as oils, lubricants, etc.
